Editorial policy
Amber Hemline aims to make clothing construction and care easier to understand. We separate explanation from opinion, use precise language, and leave room for differences between materials, garments and methods.
Accuracy and clarity
We check that explanations are internally consistent and distinguish broad principles from choices that vary by fabric, finish or garment. We avoid claims of testing or expertise we cannot support. If a question has no single dependable answer, we describe the uncertainty instead of smoothing it away.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions belong to Amber Hemline. A commercial relationship does not buy favourable coverage or editorial control. Any paid, gifted or partner-supported material is clearly identified near the relevant content so readers can see the relationship.
Corrections
Readers can report a suspected error through the Contact page. We review the concern and, when a correction is warranted, amend the relevant wording and make the change clear to readers. We do not quietly preserve an error once we have confirmed it.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with AI. Where an illustration is AI-generated, we label it accordingly. Illustrations help explain an idea; they are not evidence that a particular garment, material or technique has been tested.
A garment is a collection of choices
Amber Hemline looks closely at how cloth, construction and care meet. We favour clear explanations and experiments small enough to try without pretending every fabric behaves alike.
